It is with great excitement and inspiration that we are announcing the addition of Joy Hollingsworth to the A PLUS staff. A PLUS saw a need for a General Manager position and was able to procure a grant to fund the position. Under Joy’s leadership as General Manager she will be responsible for admission and retention of our members and families, staff training and professional development, community outreach, partnerships and donor cultivation. Joy comes to us after 3 years as an assistant basketball coach for the Seattle University Women’s team. She earned her Master’s of Education in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership from the University of Washington in 2009. A published writer, Hollingsworth’s has written for ESPN Hoopgurlz, NCAA Champion Magazine, the WBCA magazine and is in the final stages of completing her first book, Post Game: Life After Basketball. For her full bio please see the Staff page. Although Joy will not begin with A PLUS officially until September 1st, she plans on being a regular face during her transition. Joy’s roots in the community combined with her passion for both education and sports, made A PLUS a natural fit. We are confident her addition will help improve the experience for our members and families.
