A PLUS Youth Program

Academic Program
Academic Program
Educational Development

Upon entering the program each member is tested to identify academic areas that need development.  After each member is evaluated, a lesson plan is developed and members are matched with tutors to meet their educational needs.  Students who do not require one-on-one tutoring will use teaching sessions as study hall.

Based on each member’s personal academic assessment, a minimum GPA will be required to continue in the program.   If after two consecutive reporting periods a member falls below the minimum GPA, the A PLUS staff will meet with parents and the member to discuss a course of action and/or disciplinary action.

Computer Training

Each Friday afternoon A PLUS members receive computer and technology training.  These sessions emphasize relevant technology including internet usage and general computer skills such as typing and word processing.  Members also obtain exposure to various types of computer software.
