A PLUS Youth Program

Mentor Program
Mentor Program
The mentor program was created to…

Empower our members to want to learn while expanding their academic horizon

Help members become leaders in their schools , with their athletic teams, and in the community

Provide moral support and give them good advice on how to handle life and its many obstacles

Teach members how being a good, honest, hard working individual will benefit them now and throughout life

Teach members self-discipline and how to overcome life’s negative temptations

For members to have positive role models and to let them know that there are good honest individuals in the            community that care about their future as well as their overall well being

Teach members the importance of taking care of their bodies and how good nutrition, proper exercise, hard work, and                proper rest can ultimately help them be better student-athletes.

A message from Nicholas Abraham, Mentor Program Director

“I have over thirty years experience in the professional fitness industry as a General Manager, Fitness Manager, and Sales Manager. Over the course of those years I have empowered young men and women with the knowledge and wisdom to motivate themselves and others to get fit and to be healthy. I collaborated with various local high schools in setting up strength and conditioning programs for their basketball players, including O’Dea, Franklin, Garfield, Saint Joseph’s, Seattle Prep, The Yes Foundation, and Lakeside. I also conducted my own strength and conditioning program for athletes that played baseball, football and track and have also worked with various other athletes from high schools across the Seattle-Tacoma area, some of which are now playing or have played collegiate and professional basketball.

My work also included mentoring, teaching, and empowering youth at the Rotary Boys and Girls Club for over ten years.  As a teacher and mentor I taught a computer technology class that included over forty youth (ages 12 to 18), some of which now work for Boeing, Microsoft, and various other technology companies around the country. I have spent much of my adult life in the background helping others learn the importance of being a good person, how to work hard, how to maximize the opportunities of the educational system, and how to take care of the body and mind in order for them to lead a long, healthy, productive life.”
